Sunshine Private School: A Legacy of Excellence in Education

Established in 2008 by Nomakando Kangira, Sunshine Private School began as a pre-primary and aftercare institution in Windhoek North. The founder, a seasoned educationist with a Master’s Degree in Education Administration, Planning, and Policy Studies, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree and multiple certificates in educational leadership, envisioned creating a platform for holistic learning. The school has grown steadily, introducing its first Grade 1 class in 2012. Today, it serves over 2,000 students, offering education from Pre-Primary to Grade 7. Its secondary division, Sunshine Private College, expanded to include Grade 12 as of 2021. Additionally, the institution provides teacher training degree programs, reaffirming its commitment to advancing education.

Our Mission | Vision | Goals

Our Mission
Our mission at Sunshine Private School is to provide a joyful and challenging learning environment through a fully integrated curriculum that empowers our children to realise their full potential in all learning areas. We are dedicated to fostering our learners towards an understanding that, diversity of gender, physical or mental ability, culture, and background is a strength to be respected.

Our Vision
We aim to prepare and empower our learners for a rapidly changing global world by equipping them with the requisite problem solving skills and respect for core values of integrity, compassion, and ethics in order to build a strong and forward thinking institution.

Our Goals
Our goal is to embrace a strong Christian-based academic foundation necessary for all learners to enjoy a successful experience in primary school education and beyond.

School Uniform

It is the school’s policy to have a very formal uniform, especially not tight-fitting clothes as we have to take in to consideration that many learners with learning barriers are very touch sensitive and prefer loose fitting clothes and specific materials. This, however, does not take away from the fact that learners must be neat and well-dressed at all times. School shirts, shorts, tracksuits and winter fleece tops are available at school-wear suppliers. The principal’s decision in terms of dress code, hair and general appearance is final.

BOUNDARY WHOLESALE CC is a proud supplier of school wear in Namibia.

You can get the school uniform at their shops.

2025 Theme Song

"How Great Thou Art."

1 Oh Lord my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art

2 And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I Scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art

3 When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou Art
